The web design industry continues to grow, despite the ever increasing number of web designers on the market already. It makes you wonder if the industry will overpopulate, becoming so full that a potential designer, like yourself, can't make an honest living.
There are several things you should know when you are trying to decide what career you would like to have after you graduate from college. One of the main things is that you shouldn't glamorize any profession. For example, lawyers on television are very different from lawyers in real life. On television, their lives look very glamorous.
Going from college to law school to the workforce seems quite easy, and they seem to lead an attractive life where they make a lot of money. However, studies show that lawyers who are asked if they would recommend their job to other people usually say no.
That said there are a lot of contracts out there for the web designer; the key is deciding to become one and pushing towards that goal. Most people looking to learn web design and enter the industry have one enormous question on their minds, "Do I have the eye to learn web design?" Referring to the artistic eye to create something beautiful, many think you have to be a practicing artist to learn web design and do it correctly. What they don't realize is that although that helps, it is not the deciding factor for every designer.
But real life is quite different from a television show. Many times detectives do not have exciting jobs at all. This is why it is important to pick your career based on facts, not sensationalized myths. You do not want to pour your time, energy, and effort into working towards a career that will not be a good fit for you because you have believed the media's misleading portrayals of certain professions.
If you are required to take a drug test, as many times you will be required to do so, you should not be offended or feel singled out by the company that asks you to do this. There are many companies, even outside of healthcare, that require all potential employees to take a drug test to ensure that their employee is suitable to their no drug policy.
There are plenty of blogs, manuals, and principles that can help you learn the industry. All you need to do is spend some time with them, check out other websites for examples, and identify what helps a user and what hurts them.
And still, sometimes singers and bands follow this route and then don't make it big in the music industry. This is a sad fact, but it is true. So basically, there is a lot of gamble involved when deciding to pursue certain professions. If you are willing to make that gamble: good for you.
But you have to realize what a gamble pursuing certain professions will be before you jump into it quickly. You can't decide to pursue nursing on a whim; you have to research and learn before you can safely safe you want to pursue nursing.
